The 44 mag Super Blackhawk shoots a 300 grain cast plain base very well at around 1100fps. The Ruger 41 mag has the same twist (1-20) as the Ruger 44 mag. I believe cast bullets with a flat nose are superior. I rarely use jacketed bullets for hunting. So this year it will be the Super Blackhawk again. You see, I treat a handgun like a bow, I practice a lot. By the time I get the gun and the components I will not have time to practice with it enough to feel comftrable hunting with it.
